Customer Comments:

I pieced together a Fender Jazz-like bass out of pieces and parts. Alan helped draw the whole thing together. He set the bass up, changed out the tuners, and made the pick-ups run in series. What does that mean? It means he made it sound like a beefy-meaty bass. He saved me with a last minute set-up and had the bass ready to play for one of our biggest shows of the year. I appreciate what he has done, and look forward to working with him in the future!

Thank you for improving the tone of my guitar 100%. The pickups you recommended and installed are outstanding. I can't believe it's the same guitar!

—John Delaney

First, the workmanship was excellent and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you to anyone. I appreciated your suggestions for components based on the issues I was having... The tones of the guitar have definitely improved. Both pickups are more transparent—they breathe more. I really appreciate that you were open to answering my questions before actually making the mods; I value that in a tech. Thanks!

The parts on the left side are cheap parts that we have pulled from import guitars and replaced with quality parts like the ones shown in the right hand column. Unless requested otherwise AM Guitar Works installs CTS volume and tone pots, Switchcraft, CRL and Oak Grigsby Jacks and Switches and Vishay Sprague Orange Drop Tone Capacitors. These are the types of components found in higher end American made guitars. These parts are much more reliable than the lower priced components and can open up the tone of your guitar.  We keep these items in stock at all times. If you are a DIY'er we can provide you quality parts for your project.

Above: A guitar that we've shielded with conductive copper tape.  This will help your guitar run with less hum and radio frequency interference.  We sell the shielding kits as well for $14.00.  The kit includes a 12" x 12" sheet of copper adhesive foil, a 1" x 5' strip of copper adhesive tape, and 2 feet of shielded cable for long runs.  If you are a DIY'er we can provide you quality parts for your project.
